Research experience is an important part of applications for many graduate school programs. Ideally, students will have become involved by their junior year. Fortunately, there are many opportunities for undergraduate students with initiative to become involved.
If you are an undergraduate STEM major interested in supporting K-12 schools, then this is an extraordinary paid opportunity for you! As an Ambassador you will work with K-12 students and teachers to increase STEM opportunities and support STEM academic programs within Memphis and Jackson-area schools.
Those selected will be placed in a paid position, typically 5-10 hours per week, including a one-hour mandatory training session each month to further develop leadership and communication skills.
STEM Ambassadors are assigned to a school so that their strengths meet the individual needs of each school. Ambassadors serve in numerous capacities, including: math tutors, STEM competition coaches, after school activity coordinators, STEM club liaisons, and STEM lab instructors. We also need Ambassadors to work on the Lambuth campus in the STEM Lending Library!
